Every year we watch hundreds of openings. These thirteen stood out.
1. Aman New York
The quiet luxury of Aman, transposed to Midtown. The bar is the best room in the hotel — walnut-panelled, capped with a fireplace, two stories below street level.
2. Rosewood Villa Magna Madrid
Former residence of the Marquis of Marino. The renovation preserved every piece of stucco worth saving and replaced the rest with restraint.
3. Six Senses Rome
The first hotel to be built inside Palazzo Salviati, in a city that rarely lets anyone build inside palazzi.
